EWING — Services for William A. Hobbs, 86, of Spearfish, S.D., formerly of Ewing, will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter’s Catholic Church here with burial in the parish cemetery. The Rev. Jim Kramper will officiate.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the church with a parish rosary at 7:30 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Biglin’s Mortuary in O’Neill.
He died Thursday, July 25, 2013, at Hospice House of the Hills in Rapid City, S.D.
Memorials may be made to St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Ewing.

William was born on Nov. 5, 1926, in O’Neill to Lee and Mildred (Harding) Hobbs. He married Arlene Schiffbauer on Sept. 3, 1943, in Ewing. She passed away on May 1, 1994. He married Judith Hein on Dec. 29, 1999, in Ewing. He owned and operated Hobbs Feedlot at Ewing and was a cattle buyer. He was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Ewing.
He is survived by his wife, Judith; nine children, Sharon Streskal and husband Clifford of Clearwater, Patricia Brion and husband Joseph Robino of Bennington, Duke Hobbs and wife Molly of Ewing, Jeanne Fry of Norfolk, Christine Moser and husband John of Clearwater, Rebecca Koenig and husband Dan of Ewing, James Hobbs of Ewing, Teresa Hawk and husband Randy of Omaha and Germaine Bollwitt and husband Todd of Ewing; 36 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter; and three brothers, Dwayne Hobbs and wife Marilyn, Dorrence Hobbs and wife Barbara and Bob Hobbs and wife Janell, all of Ewing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Arlene, two sisters and their husbands, one brother, one granddaughter and one great-granddaughter and two sons-in-law, Ron Brion and Jack Fry.
