Deanna 'Dee' Planz, 71, of Norfolk, died Friday, May 10, 2013, at BryanLGH West in Lincoln. Memorial services will be held Saturday, May 18 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Norfolk. Pastor Edgar Schambach will officiate, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery in Wayne, following the luncheon. Visitation will be Friday, May 17 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Brockhaus-Howser-Fillmer Funeral Home in Norfolk. Deanna Dean (Werk) Pflanz, daughter of Robert and Clara (Bruce) Werk, was born July 30, 1941, at Wisner, and attended Pender Public School. Dee was blessed with her first daughter, Tammy, during her marriage to Fred Oberg. On March 13, 1969, Dee was married to Richard Pflanz at Fremont and the couple was blessed with a second daughter, Trudy. During her lifetime, Dee lived in various places: Pender and Emerson in Nebraska; Lemars, Iowa; Wayne, Nebraska; Hot Springs Village, Ark.; and later, Norfolk, where she was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. Survivors include her husband, Richard Pflanz of Norfolk; daughters, Tammy (Don) Straight, and Trudy (Dwight) Schultz; stepchildren, Cary Pflanz, Kelly (Lisa) Pflanz, Pam (Nathan) Shelbourn, Todd (Jane) Pflanz, and Richard (Stacy) Pflanz; grandchildren, Justen Straight, Jordan Straight, Ashleigh Schultz, Jessica Schultz, and Hunter Schultz; many step-grandchildren; and a brother, Don Werk of Midway, Ark. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Clara Werk; stepson, Robert Pflanz; and grandson, Kaden Schultz. Brockhaus-Howser-Fillmer Funeral Home in Norfolk is in charge of arrangements.
