Sharon K. Biggerstaff, 66, of Emerson, died on Friday, May 17, 2013 at the Pender Community Hospital in Pender.
Services were held Tuesday, May 21 at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Emerson; Vicar Kaila Hochhalter officiated.
Sharon K. Biggerstaff was born Sept. 4, 1946, the daughter of Art and Doris (Schindler) Geise. She attended and graduated from Emerson High School. Sharon worked at the Emerson Cafe and grocery store for many years, and most recently for CVA in Emerson. She retired in 2012. After retirement, Sharon volunteered at her church and the Emerson New To You Store. Sharon enjoyed spending time with her family, attending the activities of her grandchildren, visiting with and going to events with her close friends, bus trips and working in her flower and vegetable gardens. She was a longtime member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, and the Emerson American Legion.
Survivors include her children: Lonnie (Lisa) Biggerstaff of rural Wakefield, Kimberly (Dan McRae) Satterwhite of Emerson and grandchildren, Aaron Satterwhite, Brooke Satterwhite, Wyatt Biggerstaff, Nicole McRae and Sidney Biggerstaff; an aun,t Sally Stimson, and her beloved cat, “Max.”
She was preceded in death by her parents, one uncle, one aunt and a step-brother.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
Burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Emerson. Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home of Emerson was in charge of the arrangements.
