Clair F. Schubert, 95, of Allen, died Thursday, May 9, 2013 at the Wakefield Health Care Center in Wakefield.
Services will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at 10 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Allen. Pastor Lorri Kentner will officiate. Visitation with the family present will be held on Monday, May 13 from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Bressler - Munderloh - Smith Funeral Home in Wakefield. Burial will be in Eastview Cemetery in Allen. Memorials are suggested to Providence Home Health Care and Hospice and to the American Cancer Society.
Clair F. Schubert was born May 31, 1917 in Hay Springs, Neb., the son of Otto and Edieh (Zentmire) Schubert. He attended and graduated from South Sioux City High School. Clair married Frances Linafelter on Oct. 31, 1938. He had been a resident of Waterbury and Allen all his life. He was a longtime member of the United Methodist Church in Allen, where he was active in church activities.
Survivors include four sons, Marvin and Dianne of Sioux City, Iowa, Maynard and Paulette of Gretna, Ronnie and Yoshi of Victorville, Calif. and Roger and Donna of Kearney; six grandsons and two granddaughters, nine great grandchildren and a sister Dorothy Parnell of Edmonds, Wash.
Pallbearers will be his grandchildren: Keith Schubert, Scott Schubert, James Schubert, Steve Schubert, Stacie Schubert, Donna Kindle, Austin Schubert and Spencer Schubert and a honorary pallbearer, Kelly Schubert.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Frances, a granddaughter, Kelly Schubert; two sisters and two brothers.
Bressler-Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Wakefield is in charge of arrangements.
