Marvin Draghu, 87, of Wayne, died Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at Careage of Wayne.
Services will be held Monday, April 22 at 11 a.m. at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Wayne. The Rev. Bob Oleson will officiate. Visitation will be held Sunday, April 21 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Hasemann Funeral Home in Wayne with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m.
Marvin Dale Draghu was born Dec. 12, 1925, in Wayne County to Michael and Ella (Dorman) Draghu. He graduated from Wayne High School. Marvin served in The United States Army in Japan during World War II, from March 12, 1946 - March 6, 1947. Marvin married Elaine Burns on May 4, 1947, at Logan Center United Methodist Church north of Laurel. They farmed in the early years. Marvin worked for Logan Township as a motor grader operator, heavy equipment operator for Dixon County, and following their move into Wayne in 2006, he worked part time for Wayne County until his health failed. Marvin was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, Masonic Lodge #120, and Wayne V.F.W. Post #5291.
Survivors include his wife, Elaine; daughters, Cynthia Regnier of Rochester, Minn. and Kathleen (Dixon) Collins of Angels Camp, Calif.; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; brother, Donald (Marcille) Draghu of Wayne; sister, Arlene Watteyne of Aurora, CO; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; twin sons in 1953; and son-in-law, Thomas Regnier in 2010.
Pallbearers will be Bruce Roeber, Randall Carlson, Kurt Rewinkel, Keith Boeckenhauer, Lyle Johanson and David Draghu.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
Burial with military rites and Masonic Rites will be in Greenwood Cemetery at Wayne. Hasemann Funeral Home in Wayne is in charge of arrangements.
