Frank W. Pelster, 74 one of the early day residents of the Grand Prairie community, passed away in Ainsworth, Monday March 6, 1939, after a short illness.
He was born in Washington, Missouri, December 12, 1864.
At the age of 20, he went to Cherokee, Iowa. He remained there four years, coming then to Brown County, locating on a farm in the comunity which was his home for over half a century.
On April 9, 1893, he was married to Wilhelmine Schenk. To them were born six daughters and three sons, all of whom survive and are: Misses Emma, Minnie and Edna at home, Mrs. Jesse Terry, Johnstown, Mrs. Otis Prosser, Valentine, and Mrs. Eugene Runolfson, Centerville, California; Rudolph, Gustav and Theodore, Johnstown. A sister and a brother reside in Omaha.
Funeral services have been arranged for Friday afternoon, pending the arrival of Mrs. Runolfson from California. The service will be held at Jessen's Funeral Home at 2 o'clock, in charge of John Hall, M.E. Pastor. Burial will be in Grand Prairie cemetery beside that of his wife who passed away in 1916.
