Memorial services for Bonnie Lund age 85 of Wayne, NE will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Wayne on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. Officiate Rev. Ray D.E. McCalla. Visitation will be held at Hasemann Funeral Home of Wayne on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. with family present from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Interment will be in the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wayne. She passed away Sunday at a Sioux City Hospital. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation. She attended Rural School District #34 near Wayne and graduated from Wayne High School. Bonnie’s mother died in January of 1941. After the death of her mother, following her older sisters, Bonnie was given the responsibility of caring for the family household. Bonnie married Richard Lund, January 29, 1950, at the family farm southeast of Wayne. She was a farm wife and was employed as the secretary at the Natural Resource District for twenty years. Bonnie and Rick farmed for forty years until moving into Wayne in 1992. Bonnie was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Wayne, PEO, and Order of The Eastern Star. Bonnie was a great cook and loved her flowers and gardening. She was very devoted to her family including her many nieces and nephews. Bonnie is survived by her husband, Richard “Rick” Lund; siblings, Betty Nichols of Omaha, James (Ginger) Nissen of Lincoln, and Evelyn (Wayne) Eipperle of Omaha; nieces and nephews. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Mary Ellen Liken.
