Funeral services for Eva Thies age 76 of Winside will be held on Thursday January 10, at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Winside, Nebraska. She passed away Friday at Methodist Hospital in Omaha. Visitation will be held at the United Methodist Church Winside on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. with the family present. Arrangements are with Hasemann Funeral Home of Winside. She was baptized at the United Methodist Church in Winside. She graduated from Winside High School in 1954. Eva married Eldon Thies, August 25, 1957, at the United Methodist Church in Winside. The couple farmed all of their married life northwest of Winside. Eva enjoyed her flowers and gardening and most of all loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Eva is survived by her husband, Eldon; their children, Dwayne (Diane) Thies of Hoskins, Lori Thies (Mickey Dill) of Lyman, South Carolina, Linda (Scott) Mattson of Pierce, and John (Nancy) Thies of Winside; eleven grandchildren, Joshua (Angie) Mattson, Cody Mattson, Amanda Menke, Abbie Thies, Alyssa Thies, Jesse (Jenny) Thies, Christopher Thies, Ethan Thies, Nazya Thies, Emily Sindelar, and Alec Sindelar; five great-grandchildren, Haylee Menke, Aiden Menke, Kaden Mattson, James Mattson, and MaKenna Thies; many special kids and grandkids; brother, Herb and Arlene Wills of Winside; nieces and nephews. Eva was preceded in death by her parents. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
