Mrs. Minnie Reyman Is Laid At Rest
On Saturday, March 19 the community was startled and saddened to learn that Mrs. Minnie Reyman had suffered a paralytic stroke at her home. She became unconscious almost immediately, and telegrams at once called her children home. Mrs. Reyman had during the day been in the full enjoyment of her usual good health, and was enjoying a visit with her daughter, Mrs. Merl Eberhart, who with her children were guests in the home.
All was done that medical aid and loving hands could do, but to no avail. At 3:00 A.M., Tuesday she sank peacefully away. At no time had she felt the slightest touch of pain or apprehension and her going was but the gentle sinking to dreamless sleep.
Minnie Goll Reyman was born November 19, 1866, at Tekamah, Nebraska. After completing school at Tekamah she attended college at Shenandoah, Iowa, following which she taught school for 7 years. In June 1892 she was united in marriage to Claude B. Reyman who preceded her in death seven years. Shortly after their marriage they came to western Nebraska in a covered wagon, to live on their homestead which together with land later acquired became the Reyman ranch. At this early date the railroad extended only as far as Johnstown. She takes her place with those who suffered the hardships of pioneer life in this country. To the union were born five children; Mrs. John Grosse of Crookston, Nebraska; Bruce Reyman of the home; Mrs. Merl Eberhart of Keya Paha; Mrs. Vance Stalnaker of Chappell, Nebraska; Mrs. V. A. Fry also of Chappell. There were eight grandchildren. Besides her immediate family she has two brothers and three sisters who mourn the loss of their loved one whose span of life was 66 years, 4 months and 3 days.
Mrs. Reyman was a sincere Christian woman. At an early age she became an active and earnest member of the Lutheran church in Tekamah. The strength of her character and unassuming life have won the admiration and respect from all who knew her. No obstacle was ever so great but what she would attempt its removal willingly and with a smile. Her life was filled with deeds of loving kindness and encouragement to all about her. Not to arrive but to go on, not to sit complacently, but to helpfully service is the plan of the Almighty Father and in so doing is the making of a great soul.
The warmest sympathy goes out to the family in their sorrow. The funeral was held at the community church in Wood Lake, Thursday, March 24, conducted by the Pastor, Rev. Gail Moon. The interment was in the Wood Lake cemetery.
