FOOTE, Eugene “Skip”

Hastings resident, Eugene “Skip” Foote II, 67, passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at his home. Private family service will be held at Parkview Cemetery on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 with Dr. Scott McCormick officiating. Following the private services, a celebration for Skip’s life will be held at 11 AM at the Hastings Elks Club. Brand-Wilson Funeral Home and Cremation is in charge of the arrangements. Skip was born July 5, 1944 to Dr. Charles Melville and Mary Janet (Smith) Foote in Hastings, NE. “Skip” graduated from Hastings High School, Hastings College, and obtained his law degree at Denver University. He practiced law in Hastings for over 41 years. Over the years, his law partners included Jerry Whelan, Steve Scherr, Art Langvardt, and Nick Valle. He is survived by his wife Jackie Foote of Hastings, and one daughter Tyrell Nickols and her husband Josh, and their daughter, Finley Clair Nickols of Atlanta, Georgia. Memorials may be given to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hastings.
