Rodney Ballard, age 47, of Giltner, died February 20, 2009 in Bakersfield, California. Graveside Services will be held 10:30 A.M., Friday, March 27th at the Giltner Cemetery. OBITUARY: RODNEY BALLARD Rodney Eugene Ballard, the son of Donald and Loretta Fay (Juett) Ballard, was born in Grand Island, Nebraska on August 25, 1961 and died in Bakersfield, California on February 20, 2009, at the age of 47. He grew up in Giltner and graduated from Giltner High School. Rod went to work as an over the road salesman for 10 years, before going to work for G.I.C.C. as a mechanic for 10 years. Rod then decided to buy his own truck and become an over the road truck driver. He was preceded in death by his mother. Those left to cherish his memory are his father, Donald Ballard of Giltner; two brothers, Kenneth (Sandra) Ballard of Giltner and Thomas (Laura) Ballard of Aurora; two sisters, Theresa Ray of Giltner and Barbara Ballard of Perry, Iowa and 8 nieces and nephews.
