OBITUARY Sarah M. Wright was born in North Eaton, Lorain County, Ohio Aug. 19, 1848. She was married to Merritt F. Mead at the same place on February 27, 1868. To this union was born two children, who have been known as Mrs. Blanch M. Slonecker of Meadville and Mrs. Gertrude M. Foster who preceded her in death on June 14, 1916. They moved to Thayer Co., Nebraska in 1871 and from there to Brown County in 1882. Her husband was the first Post Master at Meadville and Meadville Post Office was named after this family. She moved to Ainsworth on January 1, 1916. She departed this life at the home of her grandson, Glen Foster, in Ainsworth on March 23, 1929 at the age of 80 years, 7 months, and 4 days. She goes to join her husband who died on Oct. 13, 1905 and the afore mentioned daughter Mrs. Gertrude Foster. She leaves to mourn her loss a daughter, Mrs. Blanche M. Slonecker and two brothers William Wright of Bartley and Frank Wright of Lamoyne, Nebraska, also 8 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, besides other relatives and friends. She united with the Christian church in Ohio in her youth, while the church of her choice is not here she has worshipped with the Methodist church since coming to town. DEATH OF MRS. MEAD Mrs. Sarah M. Mead died at the home of her grandson, Glen Foster, Ainsworth, March 28. Sarah M. Wight was born at North Eaton, Loraine county, Ohio, August 19, 1848, and was aged 80 years, 7 months and four days. On February 27, 1868 she was united in marriage to Meritt I. Mead, at North Eaton. To this union two daughters were born, Mrs. Blanche M. Slonecker of Meadville, Nebr., and Gertrude M. Foster were preceded her in death -- June 14th, 1916. Her husband died October 13th, 1905. In March 1871 Mr. and Mrs. Mead came to Thayer county, Nebr. where they took a homestead and resided until August 1882, when they moved to Brown county, settling on the banks of the Niobrara river near Meadville, where Mrs. Mead resided until January 1, 1915, when she moved to Ainsworth. She is survived by two brothers, William Wight of Bartley, Nebr., and Frank Wight of Lamayne, Nebr., on daughter, Mrs. Slonecker of Meadville, eight grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. Mrs. Mead was widely known throughout this section of the state, and leaves a host of friends to mourn her loss. The funeral was held from the Methodist church Monday afternoon of this week, conducted by Rev. L. V. Slocumb, and interment was made in the Ainsworth cemetery.
