Funeral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Saturday, October 4, 1986 at the Presbyterian United Church of Christ in Aurora. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.
OBITUARY: Melbern L. Baehr
Melbern L. Baehr, the son of Albert J. and Amanda M. (Goettsch) Baehr, was born at North Bend, Nebraska, on September 15, 1911, and passed away at Omaha, Nebraska, on October 1, 1986, at the age of 75 years and 16 days.
He graduated from Fullerton High School and attended Kempler Military Academy and the University of Nebraska for 3 years. He came to Aurora in 1936 and started Baehr’s Red & White Super Market, which served the community until 1972, when it was sold.
Mel served his country during World War II in the United States Army, from 1942 to 1946, serving in the South Pacific.
He was a member of the Aurora Presbyterian United Church of Christ, and was an active member of the American Legion and V.F.W.
He is survived by one brother, W.A. “Cub” Baehr of Aurora, and one nephew, Ted Baehr of Santa Barbara, California.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
