Lenora Arnold, age 84, of Grand Island died Tuesday morning, January 4, 2000, at Wedgewood Care Center in Grand Island.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Grand Island. Rev. Joel Schroeder will officiate. Interment will be at Phillips Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 Thursday at Higby Mortuary. Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church or donor’s choice.
OBITUARY: LENORA ARNOLD
Lenora Antonette Arnold, the daughter of Fred and Tina (Rohweder) Schirkofsky, was born at Hastings, Nebraska on March 21, 1915 and died in Grand Island, Nebraska on January 4, 2000, at the age of 84 years, 9 months and 13 days.
She grew up in the Grand Island area and graduated from Grand Island High School in 1935.
She was united in marriage to Kermit Arnold on May 4, 1941 in Grand Island, Nebraska. They lived in Phillips and other various Nebraska towns. They retired in 1978 in Ogallala, they remained there until 1997 when they moved back to Grand Island.
She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. She was very proud of her handiwork. She enjoyed her hobbies of sewing, quilting and embroiderind.
Her parents, one son, Frank, and one brother, James Schirkofsky preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband, Kermit of Grand Island, son, James C. Arnold of Grand Island; three sisters, Charlotte McFarland of Grand Island, Marian Fauquier of Grand Island and May McCarty of Grand Island; 2 grandsons, 1 great- granddaughter and 1 great-grandson.
