Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Thursday, August 2, 1984 at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Aurora. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.
OBITUARY: Herman F. Arndt
Herman F. Arndt, the son of Gustave and Ernestine Brandt Arndt, was born in York County, Nebraska, on April 25, 1900. His death occurred at St. Paul, Nebraska on July 31, 1984, following a short illness. He was 84 years, 3 months and 6 days of age.
At the age of five years, he moved with his parents and family to a farm near Hampton. Here he received his education in the schools of that vicinity.
Herman was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith and had been a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Aurora for several years.
On March 24, 1940, he was united in marriage to Bertha Schaffert at the Salem Lutheran Church near Hampton. Three children were born to them. They farmed near Hampton, until 1945, when they moved to a farm south of Aurora, where they farmed until their retirement in 1966, when they moved into Aurora, where he has since resided.
His parents and six brothers and six sisters had preceded him in death.
Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife, Bertha; one daughter Mrs. May Ann Schwarz of Archer, Nebraska; two sons, Ardean Arndt of Lincoln, Nebraska and Bill Arndt of Aurora; four sisters, Mrs. Anna Peitsch of Columbus, Nebraska, Miss Wilhelmine Arndt of Lincoln, Miss Leona Arndt of Fullerton, Nebraska and Mrs. Ella Schaffert of Hastings, Nebraska; seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, several nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews and other relatives and many close friends.
