Funeral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Saturday, May 2, 1987 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Aurora. Interment was held in the Stanton Cemetery in Stanton, Nebraska. OBITUARY: Dan Armbruster Daniel J. Armbruster, the son of William and Pauline (Marxer) Armbruster, was born at Stanton, Nebraska, on May 10, 1932, and passed away at Omaha, Nebraska, on April 29, 1987, at the age of 54 years, 11 months, and 19 days. He was a graduated of Stanton High School and attended Wayne State College. On January 2, 1953, he was united in holy matrimony to Carole Denney at Stanton. On May 8, 1952, he entered the United States Air Force, and serves his country for 4 years, and upon his discharge he began farming. He then worked for the Production Credit Association in Iowa and later in Columbus. He graduated from the Colorado School of Banking in Boulder and began working at the First National Bank in Osceola. In 1969 he came to the Farmers State Bank in Aurora, where he served as president. Dan was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Aurora, and was a 4th Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus, and had served as Grand Knight of the local council. He was also past President of the Aurora Chamber of Commerce, past President of the Aurora Rotary Club, had served on the Aurora District 4-R School Board, and was a member of the Aurora American Legion. He had also been very active in community affairs during his career in Aurora. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, William and Theodore. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife Carole; one son David of Aurora; 3 daughters, Anne Garrett of Polk, Sarah Weedin of Cody, Wyoming and Mary Olsen of San Jose, California; one brother John Armbruster of Yorba Linda, California; 8 grandchildren, and many other relatives, friends, and business associates.
