Stanley Anderson, age 75, died Monday morning, August 19, 2002, at Memorial Long Term Care in Aurora. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday at the Messiah Lutheran Church in Aurora. Rev. Sheryl Kester Beyer will officiate. Interment will be at the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 8 P.M. Tuesday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary. OBITUARY: STANLEY ANDERSON Stanley Frank Anderson, the son of Harlan (Bus) and Gertrude (Fenster) Anderson, was born in Hampton, Nebraska on December 20, 1926 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on August 19, 2002, at the age of 75 years. He grew up and attended school in Hampton. Stanley served in the Army during WW II. Upon returning from the war he attended watch repair school in Albany, Missouri. Stanley was united in marriage to Erma Gannon in 1948. He was a watch repairman in Maryville, Missouri for 16 years until moving to Hampton, Nebraska. On December 12, 1975, Stanley was united in marriage to Velda Read Jones at Grand Island. Stanley worked at the Cornhusker Armory Plant at Grand Island until it closed. He then went to work for the Hamilton County Road Department. Stanley also was a gunsmith and watch repairman. Stanley was a lifetime member of the American Legion and the National Rifleman Association. He was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church. Stanley was an avid reader and history buff and enjoyed the shooting sports. He was preceded in death by his parents. Those left to cherish his memories are his wife Velda of Aurora; son, Mike Anderson of Boonsboro, Maryland; daughter, Sheri Thompson of Albion; three stepsons, Bryan Jones of Lincoln, Kevin Jones of Hugoton, Kansas and Kim Jones of Tombull, Texas; 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
