ANDERSON, Mary Esther

Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Friday, October 6, 1989 at Higby Mortuary. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: Mary Anderson Mary Esther Anderson, the daughter of Hans and Antonettie (Nielsen) Peterson, was born at Rankin, Illinois, on March 29, 1893, and passed away at Minden, Nebraska on October 3, 1989 at the age of 96 years, 6 months and 4 days. Mare spent her early childhood in Illinois where she attended school. She came to Nebraska in the spring of 1910 and had lived in the Marquette community all of the time with the exception of one year in Ruskin, Nebraska. On January 31, 1917, she was united in marriage to Lambert Anderson at Aurora, Nebraska. He preceded her in death on July 20, 1966. Mary moved to Minden, Nebraska in June of 1979 to be near her daughter. Mary was baptized at the age of twelve and united with the United Presbyterian Church in Hoopeston, Illinois. After coming to Marquette, she became a member of the United Bretheran Church, (later to become the United Methodist Church) of which she has been a faithful member for 79 years. She was very active in the women’s groups while her health permitted. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one granddaughter Vicki Petersen, 3 brothers, Ingman, Arthur and Martin Peterson. Those who remain to cherish her memory are her daughter Dorothy Peterson and her husband Charles; 2 sisters, Jessie Whitman of Carson, California and Agnes Cullen of Chicago, Illinois; 2 grandsons, Steve Peterson and his wife Lorena of Prior Lake, Minnesota and Todd Perersen and his wife Jane of Minden, 5 great grandchildren, and many other relatives and close friends.
