Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 30, 1993 at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.
OBITUARY: Iris Anderson
Iris Nadine Anderson, the daughter of George and Hazel (Smith) Foland, was born at Brighton, Colorado, on May 25, 1924, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on November 27, 1993, at the age of 69 years, 6 months, and 1 day.
She attended school at Englewood, Colorado, and graduated with the class of 1942.
On August 28, 1942, she was united in marriage to Delmar Anderson at St. Francis, Kansas. In the Spring of 1943, they moved to a farm near Marquette, where they lived until 1966, when the moved into Aurora. Iris worked at the Aurora School kitchen from 1963 until 1966, when she began work at the Hamilton Manor for 22 years as an aide and later activities director, until she retired in 1988. She worked at the Hamilton Motor Inn as a hostess from 1988 until 1992.
Iris was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church. She loved quilting, especially for her family. She was also a member of the church quilting group.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Those who remain to cherish her memory are her husband, Delmar of Aurora; 2 sons, Wendell of Pryor, Oklahoma, and Marlon of Grand Island; one daughter, Debbie Zachry of North Platte; 2 sisters, Velma All of Beryl, Utah, and Verla Hope Sherman of Seattle, Washington; and 10 grandchildren.
