TEGLER, Clifford J.

Clifford J. Tegler, 78, of Grand Island, died Sunday, February 12, 2006 at Beverly Healthcare at Lakeview. Graveside services will be on Wednesday at 2:00 P.M. at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Del Roper will officiate. There will be no visitation. Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Tegler was born on August 23, 1927 at Grand Island to Ernest & Amanda (Seim) Tegler. Survivors of the immediate family include his wife Bonnie of Grand Island; and one brother, Todd Tegler of Mountain View, Missouri. Additional survivors include a brother-in-law, Bruce Rasmussen and his wife Donna of Grand Island; two nephews, and their wives, Chad & Robyn Rasmussen of Des Moines, and Trent & Lisa Rasmussen of Kansas City; and 2 great-nephews; and 1 great-niece. Mr. Tegler received his education in Grand Island, and graduated from Grand Island Senior High in 1945. He entered the U.S. Army on September 12, 1946, and was honorably discharged on February 18, 1948. He then graduated from Nebraska Central College in 1952. He married Bonnie J. Rasmussen on August 7, 1960 in Grand Island. Mr. Tegler received his Masters degree in Education from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 1972. Mr. Tegler spent 38 years in education in Nebraska. He last served as Superintendent of School in Cedar Rapids, Nebraska. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. He was an avid reader of W.W.II history. He also enjoyed Atlanta Braves baseball. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Ernie; and three sisters, Delores, Verona, and Juanita.
