RIESSLAND, Joseph Robert

Joseph Robert Riessland, 59, of Grand Island died Thursday, February 9, 2006, at St. Francis Skilled Care in Grand Island. Joe’s family and friends are invited to gather and share memories at the Midtown Holiday Inn in Grand Island on Saturday, February 11, from 1 to 4 P.M. There will be no visitation. Cremation was provided through Westlawn Memorial Park Crematory. Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Joe was born on Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 1946, at Grand Island to Robert and Loucille (Halbeisen) Riessland. Survivors of the immediate family include his mother, Loucille Riessland of Grand Island; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Sandy and Vance Smith, and Susan and Bob Manemann all of San Diego and Julie Melancon of Grand Island. Additional survivors include three nieces, Sloan Power, Mandy Gibson and Mariah Manemann; one nephew, Joe Riessland and numerous grandnieces and grandnephews. Joe graduated from Grand Island Senior High School in 1965 and continued his education specializing in the tool and die trade. He worked for Chief Industries and also York Manufacturing for a total of 30 years. Joe was baptized in the Catholic faith. He was well loved and will be missed by his many friends and family. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Riessland.
