SLOBASZEWSKI, Stanley C.

Stanley C. Slobaszewski, 88, of Grand Island died Saturday December 31, 2005, at St. Francis Medical Center. Services will be at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. The Rev. John Ewton will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mr. Slobaszewski was born December 15, 1917, at Rockville, NE to Mike and Agnes (Kowolski) Slobaszewski. Survivors of the immediate family include his wife, Doris of Grand Island; three daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Mike Schlee of Lee’s Summit, MO, Connie and Allan Hancock of St. Paul, NE and Debra and Mark Rouse of Shelton, NE; two sons, Danny Mitchell and his wife, Kim of Grand Island and Mike Slobaszewski and his friend Marta of Castle Rock, CO; and two sisters, Lucy Curtis of Ogallala, NE and Teckla Michalski of Grand Island. Additional survivors include 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Stanley grew up and attended school in Rockville. Following his education, he helped on the family farm. He married Doris Michel on June 8, 1957, at Grand Island. Stanley worked many years as a supervisor at Leon Plastics. He enjoyed football and polka music. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Leo, Martin, Peter, Alex and Joe; and four sisters, Kate Helen Theresa and Eleanor.
