Jessie "J.J." Salinas, 68, of Grand Island died on Friday, Dec. 30, 2005, at St. Francis Medical Center.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Grace Baptist Church. Pastor John Hayes will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Salinas was born on Feb. 4, 1937, in Shelton.
Survivors of the immediate family include a brother and sister-in-law, Phillip and Nellie Salinas of Grand Island; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Carlotta and Stanley Aguilar of Grand Island, Sophie and Juaquin Galvan of Omaha, Jenny Flores of Denver and Josephine and Jose Acosta of Phoenix.
Also surviving are special friends, Chris, Nila, Andrew, Daniel, Elizabeth, Rebecca and Jonathan Howard and Miguel and Juanita Moreno.
Jessie "J.J." was a valued family member of the Grace Baptist Church. He loved music, Christmas and babies. We are thankful, as God planned from the beginning, that Jessie "J.J." is present with his loving Creator in his heavenly home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesus Sr. and Maria Salinas; two brothers, Pedro and Katarino Salinas; and three sisters, Louise Moreno, Doris Quinones and Julia Salinas.
