Virginia Kyser, 73, of Grand Island, died Wednesday, December 7, 2005 at her home.
Funeral services will be on Saturday at 10:00 A.M. at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. The Rev. Jerry Quandt will officiate.
Burial will be at the Grand Island City Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Saturday from 8:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home.
Mrs. Kyser was born on July 7, 1932 in Carthage, Missouri to Delmar and Iva (Highley) Paxton.
Survivors of the immediate family include five daughters, Bev Kyser, and Barb Berlie of Grand Island, Glenna Kosmicki of Chapman, Georgiana Schescke of Kearney, and Rebecca Pruitt of North Carolina; one son, Fred Paxton of Marquette.
Additional survivors include 13 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Kyser received her education in Ainsworth.
She married Fred Kyser on July 5, 1951 in Kansas. While Mr. Kyser was serving in the Marines, the couple lived in Oceanside, California.
The couple then moved to Wood Lake, Nebraska where they lived and worked on the family ranch. They then moved to Valentine, before moving to Grand Island in 1966. Mrs. Kyser was a devoted wife, and loving mother.
She enjoyed crocheting, making quilts, doing embroidering, and working crossword and jigsaw puzzles. She was an excellent cook and loved cooking for her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1995, her parents; and one brother, George Paxton.
