Edith L. Naughton, 77, of Loup City, formerly of Grand Island, died Sunday, November 27, 2005 at the Howard County Hospital in St. Paul. Funeral services will be on Wednesday at 1:30 P.M. at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. The Rev. Francis Curran will officiate. Burial will be at the Grand Island City Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Mrs. Naughton was born on December 22, 1927 at Rosebud, South Dakota to Jeff and Susie (Emery) Kennedy. Survivors of the immediate family include two daughters and son-in-law, Skeeter & Rick Dvorak of Loup City, and Debbie & Greg Daugherty of Crookston, NE.; one son, Les Osterman of Wichita, Kansas; 8 sisters, Terry Markvicka of Grand Island, Mary King of Belume, CO., Loretta Cox of Kentucky, Josephine Hartman of Page, Ann Mapes of Hemmingford, Vanita Teague of Texas, Teresa Bassett of Colorado, and Delores Ellis of Minatare; four brothers, George Kennedy of Georgia, Kenneth Kennedy of Utah, Tom Kennedy of Callaway, LeRoy Kennedy of Mullen. Additional survivors include 9 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. Edith received her education in South Dakota. After her education, she lived in Valentine, Nebraska where she was employed at Ideal Cleaners. She moved to Grand Island in 1981 and was employed as a seamstress at Ideal Cleaners. In 2000, she moved to Loup City. Edith enjoyed crocheting, doing counted cross-stitch, enjoyed reading westerns, and spending time with her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Ron Faubion, and Jerry Osterman; and by four brothers, Bill, Junior, Jimmy, and Richard.
