John W. Grosse Funeral services for John W. Grosse, 83, of Crookston, Nebraska, who died April 8, 1973, at Pine View Manor in Valentine, were conducted April 11, 1973, at Watts Funeral Home Valentine, by Rev. Cecil Green of the United Methodist Church. Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery in Valentine. John W. Grosse, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Grosse, was born June 27, 1889, at Wisner, Nebraska. He was baptized in infancy and confirmed at the Wisner Lutheran Church. He was married to Hazel Reyman at O’Neill, Nebraska, December 21, 1916. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert, a daughter, Minnie Ellen, and his wife, Hazel. He is survived by one son, Harold Grosse, of Crookston, Nebraska, two granddaughters, Marilyn Burch of Salina, Kansas, and Linda Tomich of Missouri Valley, Iowa; three sisters, Adeline McElhose, Creighton, Nebraska, Agnes Hamilton, Creighton, Nebraska, and Esther Wantz, Plattsmouth, Nebraska; four brothers, Otto Grosse and William Grosse of Orchard, Nebraska, Hugh Grosse of Omaha, Nebraska, and Edwin Grosse of West Sacramento, California, and a host of other relatives and friends.
