DENMAN, Robert J.


Robert J. Denman, 85, of Alda, died Monday, October 17, 2005 at the Tiffany Square Care Center. Funeral services will be on Thursday at 10:00 A.M. at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. The Rev. Nancy Lambert will officiate. Burial will be at the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Mr. Denman was born on June 27, 1920 at Alda to Loyal & Mayme (Franz) Denman. Survivors of the immediate family include his wife Mary of Grand Island; one son and daughter-in-law, Jim & Carole Denman of Grand Island; two daughters and son-in-law, Dixie & Warren Sanger of Ashland, and Linda Luddington of Colorado Springs; two step-daughters, Marsha Grabowski and Rosemary Hatton of Grand Island; three step-sons, Steve Hatton of North Platte, David Hatton of California, and Rob Hatton of Hawaii; one brother and sister-in-law, Don & Jacque Denman of Alda; one sister & brother-in-law, Sharon & Wayne Meier of Alda; and one sister-in-law, Gladys Denman of Grand Island. Additional survivors include 8 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. Mr. Denman received his education at District #6, and graduated from Alda High School in 1937. He married Patricia Hickman on November 1, 1941 in Baltimore, Md. Mr. Denman spent his entire life in the Alda area as a farmer and stockman. He married Mary Hatton on November 30, 1972. Mr. Denman was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, the Platte-Duetsche, the Eagles Club, and the Saddle Club. He especially enjoyed attending the horse races at Fonner Park. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia; one brother, Jack Denman, and one step-son, Tom Hatton.
