BENNETT, Roberta L.

Roberta L. Bennett, 73, of Grand Island, died Wednesday, September 14, 2005 at the Tiffany Square Care Center. Private graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday at the Litchfield Cemetery, with Paul Bennett officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Sunday at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home with the family present to greet friends. Mrs. Bennett was born on July 30, 1932 in Sherman County to Walter and Edna (Appel) Dietz. Survivors of the immediate family include one daughter and son-in-law, Pamela & George Smith of Grand Island; one granddaughter, Amber of Grand Island; five brothers, Richard Dietz of Omaha, Ronald Dietz of New Brighton, Minnesota, Raymond Dietz of Pouchatoula, Louisiana, Russel Dietz of Cameron, North Carolina, and Ross Dietz of Wiggins, Mississippi; six sisters, Ruth Taylor of Nederland, Texas, Ruby Schade, and Renae Stark both of Lincoln, Reva Adams of Houston, Texas, Roella Daugherty of Arapahoe, Nebraska, and Rowena Bosle of Grand Island. Mrs. Bennett received her education at a rural school near Loup City. She married Roger Bennett on October 8, 1950 at Litchfield. The couple moved to Grand Island in the 70’s. Mrs. Bennett enjoyed doing crafts, and needlework, and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 2004; and two sons, David and Michael.
