Bernice S. ‘Bunny’ Johnson, 72, of Grand Island died Monday, September 12, 2005, at Beverly Healthcare at Lakeview.
Services will be at 11:00 A.M. Thursday at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. The Rev. Terry Brown will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Johnson was born March 9, 1933, at Columbus to Walter and Bernice (Carter) Farrow.
Survivors of the immediate family include a son, Rex Johnson of Grand Island; two daughters and a son-in-law, Belinda and Bill Lucas of Grand Island and Cindy Ortega of Grand Island; one brother, Walter Farrow, Jr. of Wilmington, NC; and a sister, Ruby Niswander of Portland, OR.
Also surviving are five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Bunny moved to Grand Island at an early age where she grew up and attended Grand Island Public Schools.
She married Marvin L. ‘Bub’ Johnson on June 10, 1950.
She worked as a nurse’s aid at the old Lutheran Hospital and later St. Francis Hospital. Following her retirement, she cared for people in their homes.
Bunny enjoyed reading the Bible, working crossword puzzles, sewing and enjoyed being with people.
She was preceded in death by her husband, on September 24, 2004.
