WEBER, N.T. ‘Ted’


N.T. ‘Ted’ Weber, 82, of Grand Island died Saturday, August 27, 2005, at his home. Cremation was provided through Westlawn Memorial Park Crematory. Memorial services will be at 10:30 A.M. Thursday at Grace Lutheran Church. The Rev. Daniel Bremer will officiate. Burial will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 4 to 8 P.M. Wednesday at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. Ted was born August 15, 1923, at Altenburg, MO to Herman and Suzanne (Poppitz) Weber. Survivors of the immediate family include his wife Alice Weber of Grand Island; his son, Ted Weber of Oakland Park, FL; his daughter, Janet Weber of Omaha; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Goldie and George Ankley of Sarasota, FL and Irma Browerman of Oviedo, FL. Additional survivors include numerous nieces and nephews. Following his high school education, Ted served in the U.S. Air Force as a turret gunner during World War II and in a ground support role during the Korean Conflict. While stationed in Grand Island he met and later married Alice Heider. They were married April 21, 1946, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Grand Island. Following his discharge from the service, Ted worked for the Union Pacific Railroad in various Nebraska locations. He retired after over 30 years with the railroad. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. Ted enjoyed working crossword puzzles; he also enjoyed gardening and lawn work. He was preceded in death by six brothers and five sisters.
