Francis E. Fisher, 84, of Ashland, formerly of Grand Island died Tuesday August 23, 2005, at Ashland Care Center in Ashland.
Services will begin following a parish rosary at 10:00 A.M. Friday at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Grand Island. The Rev. Phil Flott will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9:30 A.M. until 10:00 A.M. Friday at St. Mary’s Cathedral.
Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Fisher was born November 30, 1921, at Farnhamville, IA to Francis C. and Arvilla (Whitehead) Fisher.
Survivors of the immediate family include two daughters and sons-in-law, Maggie and Stoney Lane of Tampa, FL, and Mary Jane and Ken Heavrin of Ralston, NE; four sons and daughters-in-law, Denny and Jan Condon of Omaha, Dan Condon and friend Linda of Gretna, NE, Bill and Toni Condon of Omaha and Jim and Diane Condon of Papillion; and one sister, Helen Seymour of Lincoln.
Additional survivors include a special niece, Kelly Seymour of Lincoln and numerous other nieces and nephews; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Francis served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in the European Theatre of Operations during World War Two. He worked as a salesman for Farmer’s Union Co-op, and retired to Johnson’s Lake in 1993.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret; second wife, Wilma; and one brother, Robert ‘Bob’ Fisher.
