John A. Dingwerth, 91, of Lincoln, formerly of Grand Island died Saturday, July 16, 2005, at Madonna Rehabilitation Center in Lincoln.
Services will be a 10:00 A.M. Tuesday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. The Rev. Harold Kurtenbach will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 P.M. Monday at the church with a parish rosary at 7 P.M.
Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Dingwerth was born August 1, 1913, at Raeville, NE to Henry E. and Anna J. (Seier) Dingwerth.
Survivors of the immediate family include two daughters and a son-in-law, Joan and Richard Mathias of Omaha and Jean Zeplin of Lincoln; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Toni Dingwerth of Sierra Vista, AZ and Joe and Pat Dingwerth of Kansas City, MO.
Additional survivors include nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
John married Clara O’Neill on June 26, 1939, at St. Libory, NE. Mrs. Dingwerth died on October 5, 1991.
He enjoyed music and shared his talent by singing in choirs, at funerals, for residents of nursing homes and other occasions.
John was a man who enjoyed life and was treasured by family and friends.
He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church, a 3rd and 4th degree member of Knights of Columbus, a member of the Platte Deutsche and Fraternal Order of Eagles.
