Blanche A. Frederick, 99, of Grand Island, died Sunday, July 10, 2005 at the Nebraska Veterans Home.
Funeral services will be on Thursday at 10:00 A.M. at the All Faiths Chapel at the Nebraska Veterans Home. The Rev. Bill Forbes and James Sampson will officiate.
Burial will be at 2:30 P.M. Thursday at the Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery in Lincoln.
Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the All Faiths Chapel at the Nebraska Veterans Home.
Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Frederick was born on December 17, 1905 at Adams, Nebraska to Raymond and Laura (Hillman) Birch.
Survivors of the immediate family include one daughter and son-in-law, Lavonne & Thurl Briggs of Two Harbors, Minnesota; two sons, and daughter-in-law, Robert & Barbara Frederick of Maryville, Tennessee, and Kenneth Frederick of Doniphan; and one sister, Marjorie Goldman of Spokane, Washington.
Additional survivors include 16 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren; and well as numerous nieces and nephews.
At the age of 3, Mrs. Frederick’s family moved to Loup County near Taylor, Nebraska. She grew up and attended country school 4 miles from her home. She then attended High School at Burwell.
She married Jesse Frederick on January 7, 1925 at Winner, South Dakota. The couple lived in Beatrice for a short time, before moving to a farm near Rose, Nebraska.
Mr. Frederick died in 1984, and Mrs. Frederick has been a resident at the Nebraska Veterans Home since that time.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Beth McKimmey.
