GRADY, William C.

William C. Grady William C. Grady was born May 7, 1877, in Missouri, the son of Abijah and America Pruitt Grady and died at Rapid City, South Dakota, March 23, 1964. After moving to Nebraska, he was united in marriage on December 24, 1903 at Valentine, Nebraska, to Jennie Whetstone, and homesteaded near Norden. To this marriage was born one son, Vernon Ellsworth Grady, who died in October 1926. His wife preceded him in death June 3, 1959, at Valentine. During the past four years, Mr. Grady spent part of his time living near relatives in Rapid City, S.D., and part of his time in Valentine, which was his home since 1926. He continued to enjoy his lifelong hobbies of fishing and hunting and a host of friends around Valentine. Among his survivors are 3 nieces, Edith Reyman, Wood Lake, Nebr., Evelyn Hutchison, Burwell, Nebr., and Dixie Wison, Yap Island, West Carolines Pacific, and two sisters, Ethel Boomer and Jessie Hutchison, of Portland, Oregon. He will be buried at Mr. Hope Cemetery. Funeral arrangesments are pending.
