OTTE, Ardath Martha Katharine

Ardath Otte, 81, of Wayne, died Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012 at the Wakefield Health Care Center in Wakefield. Services will be held Thursday, Dec. 13 at 2 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Wayne. The Rev. Carl Lilienkamp and the Rev. Michael Feldmann will officiate. Visitation will be held Wednesday, Dec. 12 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Hasemann Funeral Home in Wayne Ardath Martha Katharine Otte was born Feb. 14, 1931, on a farm near Concord to Bernhard and Lena (Greve) Koch. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She graduated from Concord High School and attended college in Wayne. Ardath taught in rural schools and also worked at the Wayne Book Store. Ardath married Karl W. Otte on Dec. 4, 1960, at Grace Lutheran Church in Wayne. The couple made their home in Wayne. Ardath ran ABC Preschool for 25 years. She was the first teacher for many 3-, 4-, and 5- year old children. Ardath was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Wayne and taught Sunday School for 25 years. Survivors include one son, Walter Otte and one daughter, Karla (Brent) Pick all of Wayne; two grandchildren, Kasey Otte of Concord and Lauren Pick of Wayne; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Bonnadell Koch of Wayne, Con Munson of Wakefield, Bonnie Otte of Wayne, Heinz (Barbara) Otte of Mendota Heights, Minn., Elaine (John) Moje of Arvada, Colo., Paul (Ginny) Otte of Wayne, Allen (Annette) Otte of Minneapolis, Minn.; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Karl in 2004; twin sister, Ardyce Munson; brothers, Ardale and Marlyn Koch; one brother-in-law; two sisters-in-law; and one nephew. Pallbearers will be LeRoy Koch, Art Greve, Bill Greve, Howard Greve, Larry Siebrandt, Merlin Greve and Harley Greve. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Wayne. Memorials may be made to Grace Lutheran Church and Wayne Elementary School. Hasemann Funeral Home in Wayne is in charge of arrangements.
