Mildred Jensen, 92 of Laurel, died Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012 in Lincoln. Services will be held Friday, Dec. 14 at 11 a.m. at United Methodist church in Laurel. The Rev. Jaime Farias will officiate. Visitation will be held Thursday, Dec. 13 from 5 to 7 p.m. with family present at United Methodist Church in Laurel. Mildred Theresa Jensen was born Dec. 6, 1920 at Hartington to William and Nellie (Draine) Wrenn. She married Verlin Jensen on April 20, 1938 at Obert. In her lifetime she was employed as a cook in the Old Home Café, cut and wrapped meat for Laurel Locker, was a cook at Laurel Schools for many years. She also helped manage the low rent housing in Laurel. Mildred was a resident of Laurel for many years before moving to Lincoln to be with her daughter, Sally. In June of 2009 she moved to Tabitha Care Center in Lincoln. Survivors include her children, Betty (Wayne) Finley of Snyder, Colo., Sally Urwiler of Lincoln, Sarah (Gene) Granquist of Norfolk, Robert (June) Jensen of Carthage, Texas and Larry (Kathy) Jensen of Beauna Vista, Colo.; 13 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Donna Young of Dixon and Pauline Jensen of South Sioux City; brother-in-law, Marvin Jensen of Sioux City, Iowa; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Verlin in 2007; brother, Raymond Wrenn; four sisters, Lucille Boysen, Dorothy Dowling, Doris Dowling, and Geraldine Mathiasen. Pallbearers will be Corey Granquist, Dave Tims, Rich Moore, Steve Finley, Lathan Asbra and Dave Abts. Memorials may be made to United Methodist Church in Laurel and Tabitha Care Center in Lincoln. Burial will be in the Obert Cemetery at Obert. Hasemann Funeral Home in Laurel is in charge of arrangements.
