Scott Janke, 47, of Winside, died near Winside.
Services will be held Friday, Dec. 21 at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Winside. Pastor Judy Carlson will officiate. Visitation will be held Thursday, Dec. 20 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Winside with family present.
Scott Alan Janke, was born Feb. 8, 1965, at Norfolk to Norris and Rose Ann (Farran) Janke. He graduated from Winside Public High School in 1984, and Kearney State College with a Bachelors Degree in 1989. Scott played football for Kearney State and lettered all four years. He shared a love of tractor pulling and farming with his family. He farmed for the last 23 years near Winside. Scott enjoyed watching his nephew play with the Wayne State College football team. He loved spending time with his family, especially his nieces and nephews.
Survivors include his mother, Rose Ann Janke of Winside; brothers, Craig (Tonya) Janke of Pilger and Bradley (Lisa) Janke of Winside; one sister, Lisa (Michael) Zahradnicek of LaGrange, Ky.; nieces and nephews; great-nieces; great-nephews; aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles and Gladys Farran and Alfred and Elsie Janke and father, Norris Janke in 2007.
Honorary pallbearers will be Scott’s nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Active pallbearers will be Trevor Hartman, Kevin Falk, Michael Jaeger, Mike Woerdemann, David Quinn and Larry Meyer.
Memorials may be directed to the Winside P.R.I.D.E. Project.
Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery in Winside.
