Bessie O. Everson, 88, of Grand Island, died Tuesday, April 26, 2005 at Beverly Healthcare at Park Place. Graveside services will be on Saturday at 2:00 P.M. at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. George Wheat will officiate. Visitation will be on Saturday from 9:00 A.M. until service time at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. Mrs. Everson was born on July 18, 1916 in Minatare, Nebraska to Ephram and Gertrude (Weston) Baker. Survivors include one son, Darrel Watson of Grand Island; and one sister, Loy Shepherd of North Platte. Additional survivors include 4 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandson, Mrs. Everson received her education in Phillips, Aurora, and Grand Island. She married Floyd Watson in Grand Island. After Mr. Watson’s death she married Donald Everson in 1948 in Grand Island. Bessie was employed in food service at the Conoco Café, Yancey Hotel, Dreisbach’s, and then at the Nebraska Veterans Home. Bessie enjoyed crocheting. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, one daughter, Beverly Grotzky; two brothers, Donald Baker, and Ray Newlon; and one sister, Lilah Baker.
