HAZZARD, Helen V.

Helen V. Hazzard, 76, of Grand Island died Wednesday April 20, 2005, at St. Francis Medical Center. Services will be at 1:00 P.M. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Grand Island. Dr. Charles D. Gregory will officiate. Burial will be in the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 P.M. Friday at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. The casket will be closed. Helen was born December 1, 1928, at Pierre, SD to Andrew and Gladys (Nash) Kittel. Survivors of the immediate family include one son, Terry Cahalane of Phoenix, Ariz.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth and Judy Kittel of Doniphan and Leonard and Luella Kittel of Thornton, Colo. Additional survivors include three grandchildren, Andrew Cahalane, Jessica Cahalane and Lee Cahalane. Helen grew up and attended school in Grand Island, graduating from Grand Island Senior High School in 1947. She worked as a salesclerk for Wolbach’s Department Store, later for Nicholas Rexall Drug Store and then Burke Pharmacy. Helen was a member of the First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Wayne Kittel; and one sister, Mildred Warren.
