Blanch I. Dau, 87, of Grand Island, died Monday, April 4, 2005 at the St. Francis Medical Center.
Funeral services will be on Friday at 10:00 A.M. at Livingston Sondermann Funeral Home. The Rev. Joel Schroeder will officiate.
Burial will be at the Phillips Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Thursday from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Dau was born on June 23, 1917 in Phillips to Marcus & Minnie (Sharp) Baker.
Survivors of the immediate family include one sister and brother-in-law, Mary & Clarence Juett of Redwood City, California.
Additional survivors include cousins, Viola & Gerald Remboldt of Grand Island and Roberta Baker of Grand Island; nephews, Richard Juett of Madrid, Spain, Roger Baker and Dennis Baker both of California; step-nephews, Clair & Judy Wilson of Chapman, Bob & Lavada Proctor of Aurora, Jim Skibinski, and Jerry Skibinski both of California; step-nieces, Helen O’Neill of Texas, Patricia Proctor of Grand Island, and Ethel Hanks of Ravenna; and special friends, the Fox families, of Hastings.
Mrs. Dau received her education in Phillips and graduated from Phillips High School in 1937.
She married Theodore Dau on September 9, 1942.
Mrs. Dau worked in the laundry department at the Lutheran Hospital for over 15 years.
She enjoyed playing cards especially with the Farmers Union Guild Pinochle group.
She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Dau was preceded in death by her husband in 1970; one nephew, Ken Baker; and three step-nieces, Rita Wilson, Dorothy Asher, and Irene Shuck.
