NORSEEN, Dale G.


Dale G. Norseen, 86, of Minden, passed away November 30, 2012 at Bryan LGH Hospital in Lincoln of complications following surgery. Dale was born April 3, 1926 to G. Reuben and Elin Blomstrand Norseen in Loup City, Nebraska. He graduated from Loup City High School and served with the United States Army. He married Shirley Jorgensen on October 12, 1952. He is survived by his wife; daughters, Marcelyn Holmes, and her husband, Douglas, of Kearney; Tamara Petersen, and her husband, Bruce, of Minden; and son, Brent, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. His survivors also include his grandchildren, William, Andrew, Elizabeth and Samuel Holmes; Lukas, Elin and Benjamin Petersen; Brenden, Hanna and Brock Norseen, Kaytlen Norseen Driesen, and her husband Lukas; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and six siblings including his twin brother, Dean. He worked for the telephone company for many years, then later farmed near Minden. He is fondly remembered as the yodeling school bus driver and the Minden Public Schools' transportation supervisor. After retirement he owned and operated a windshield repair business, which gave him opportunities to tell his stories and enjoy countless cups of coffee with his clients. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Minden, serving in many capacities, including as an Elder and member of the choir. He loved spending time with his family and never forgot how to play with his grandchildren. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, his gentle spirit, his yodeling, and his love of music and dancing. Memorial services will be on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Minden with Rev. Michael Schmidt officiating. There will be a reception from 5-7 p.m. at the First Christian Church in Minden, this will be a time to visit with the family and reminisce. Wes Hird will provide music for the reception.
