FOSTER, Zachariah Ralph

Zachariah Ralph Foster Zachariah Ralph Foster was born near Atlantic, Iowa, March 21, 1873 and passed away December 26, 1944 at his home north of Ainsworth. He came with his parents to Brown county in 1884. They settled on a homestead east of Meadville in what is now Keya Paha county. He was united in marriage to Gertrude Mabel Mead, April 1, 1896 at Ainsworth. To this union five children were born, all of whom survive him. His wife passed away June 14, 1916. Most of the last 60 years of his life were spent in Brown county he has successfully operated a number of farms. He leaves to mourn his passing his five children, Glenn of Redding, California, Clayton of Borger, Texas, Mrs. Gladys Lewis of Ainsworth, Rev. Leon Foster, pastor of the Methodist church at Oxford, Mrs. Alta Osborn of Mt. Vernon, New York. Four brothers, Jim and Frank of Ainsworth, and John and Allen whose present address in unknown, one sister, Mrs. Emma Leffler of Winner, So. Dak., sixteen grandchildren, nine great grand-children, a host of other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at two o’clock at Jessen’s, conducted by Rev. O. S. Hesseltine, Methodist pastor.
