SOUCIE, Dolores M.

Dolores M. Soucie was born on January 2, 1933 in Minden, Nebraska to Carl and Dora (Fulle) Gramke. She grew up northeast of Upland, Nebraska and graduated from Upland High School in 1950. Dolores was united in marriage to Dwaine Soucie on September 21, 1952 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Upland. They lived and farmed northwest of Upland. Dolores worked at the State Bank of Hildreth for 17 years. Dwaine died in 1981. Dolores was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Upland and had served as the church organist for many years. She later became a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Minden and is active in the ladies groups within the church. Survivors include one daughter, Debra Johnson and her husband, Rodney of Hastings; three granddaughters, Janessa, Adrianne and Cassandra; five great grandchildren, Enoch, Jeryn, Serenity, Sebastian and Amari; very special friend, Donald Hall of Campbell; one brother, Merrill Gramke and his wife, Carol Mae of Upland; niece Rhonda Johnson; nephew, Troy Gramke and his wife, Dotti and their children, Carrin and Garmin. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Dwaine. Memorials are suggested to the Lutheran Hour Ministries or the donors choice. Funeral services will be on Thursday, October 11, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church with Rev. Donald Becker officiating. Burial will be in the Upland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Layton-Craig Funeral Home in Minden on Wednesday from 5-7 p.m.
