WERNER, Thomas E.

Thomas E. Werner, 27 years of age from Kearney, NE, formerly of Norman, NE died at his home in Kearney on Wednesday, September 26, 2012. He was born on March 10, 1985 in Minden, NE to Walter and Candace (Edwards) Werner. Thomas grew up in the Norman area and attended Minden High School. He worked as a roofer for a short time and then worked for his father at Werner Welding. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, skateboarding and being with his friends. Thomas was quiet and shy; but once you got to know him you could see that he had a huge heart. Survivors include his parents, Walter and Candace Werner of Norman; two brothers, David Werner of Minden and Roy Werner and his wife, Angie of Hastings; two sisters, Gidget Werner of Grand Island and Jennifer Verbeck and her husband, Erick of Minden; two nieces; five nephews; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his sister, Rebecca and his grandparents. Graveside services will be on Thursday, October 4, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Osco Cemetery southeast of Minden. There will be no visitation. Layton-Craig Funeral Home in Minden is in charge of arrangements.
