Rosemary E. Hoban, 85 years of age from Heartwell, NE died on Monday, July 30 at her home near Heartwell. Rosemary was born on May 26, 1927 near Heartwell, NE to Leo and Christina “Dena” (Pantenburg) Ryan. She grew up in the Heartwell area and graduated from Heartwell High School in 1944. Rosemary was a graduate of St. Mary's College in Omaha and then returned to the Heartwell area. On October 11, 1950 she married James Hoban. She worked at Warp's Publishing Company in Minden and also helped with the farm operation. Rosemary was an active member of the Holy Family Catholic Church and Altar Society in Heartwell and served on the Kearney County Historical Society. She loved following the activities of her grandchildren. She liked to play cards, attend auctions, gardening and yard work. Survivors include two daughters, Deb Fischer and her husband, Lloyd of Kenesaw and Rosanne Konen and her husband, Richard of Guide Rock; one son, Pat Hoban and his wife, Jayne of Heartwell; 11 grandchildren, Lindsay Pritchard and her husband, Logan, John and Daniel Fischer, Ryan Konen and his wife, Jenn, Shelly Watson and her husband, Tom, Robyn and Riley Konen and Katrina, Emily, Andrea and Brandon Hoban; four great grandchildren, Leah, Rhiley, Jackson and Delaney; two brothers, Eugene Ryan and his wife, Rose and Michael Ryan and his wife, Cheryl of Minden; and one sister, Anabel Gallagher and her husband, Paul of Kenesaw. She is preceded in death by her husband. Funeral services will be on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Heartwell with Father Nicholas Baker officiating. Burial will be in the Holy Family Catholic Cemetery near Heartwell. Rosary will be recited on Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the church. Visitation will be at the Layton-Craig Funeral Home in Minden on Thursday from 3-5 p.m.
