STONEROOK, James C.

James C. Stonerook, 42 years of age from Franklin, Nebraska died on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at his home in Franklin. Jim was born on July 21, 1969 in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Robert and Nancy (Marr) Stonerook. He grew up in the Holdrege area and attended school in Holdrege and Bertrand. Jim worked at various jobs in the area. He moved to Franklin four years ago. Jim loved cars, especially his 1946 pickup, enjoyed tubing and fishing at the river. Jim enjoyed life and could talk to anyone. Survivors include his step mother, Kimberly Stonerook of LaVista, NE; son, James C. Stonerook McClain of Washington D.C.; 5 brothers, Nicky Robuck of Holdrege, Robert Stonerook of Upland, Terry Stonerook of Holdrege, Ronald Stonerook of Arapahoe and D.J. Stonerook of LaVista, NE; 4 sisters, Peggy Campbell of Hildreth, Linda Stonerook of Franklin, Marilyn Nelson of Franklin and Vanessa Stonerook of LaVista and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother and father and 2 nieces. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Layton-Craig Funeral Home in Minden with Pastor David Welch officiating. Burial will be in the Hildreth Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Layton-Craig Funeral Home in Minden on Monday from 3-5 p.m.
