SABACKY, Anabel Marie

Anabel Marie (Larsen) Sabacky, 90 years of age from Minden died on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at the Bethany Home in Minden. Anabel was born on May 12, 1922 on the family farm east of Minden to Nels P. and Katie (Petersen) Larsen. Anabel attended Rural School #15 in Kearney County, and graduated from Minden High School with the class of 1939. She taught in rural schools in Kearney and Phelps counties for five years. In 1944 she went to Omaha and attended Omaha Baptist Bible College, after graduation she worked as a bookkeeper at the Bible College for several years. Anabel joined Grace Baptist Church in Omaha where she was a member for 50 years. She married Stanley J. Sabacky on August 20, 1963 in this church. They made their home in Omaha. Stanley died in 1990, she continued to live in Omaha until moving to the Bethany Home assisted living in December of 2008. Survivors include a sister in-law, Helen H. Larsen of Minden, 2 nephews, Charles Larsen and his wife, Nancy of Minden, and Rodney Sabacky of OK; 2 nieces Roberta Larsen of Minden and Joan Cluxton of TN all of Minden and great-nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Stanley, stepson, Stanley Sabacky sister, Laura Randall and two brothers, Fred Larsen and James Larsen. Memorial services will be on Friday, June 15, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bethany Home Chapel with Rev. Michael Schmidt officiating. Burial was in the Minden Cemetery. No visitation. Layton-Craig Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
