RASMUSSEN, Eugene D.

Eugene D. Rasmussen, 86 years of age from Minden died on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at Bethany Home in Minden. He was born on August 25, 1925 in Minden to Henry and Estell (Shannon) Rasmussen. He grew up in the Minden area and graduated from Minden High School. On June 12, 1947 he married LaVon Zade. They made their home in Minden. To this union was born three children, Greg, Kristi and Brad. Gene was the parts manager for Minden Terminal John Deere Implement. He worked at the Terminal for 57 years. He enjoyed being with his family and visiting with friends. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Minden American Legion for 65 years. Memorials are suggested to the Minden American Legion. Survivors include two sons, Greg Rasmussen and his wife, Denise of Cozad and Brad Rasmussen and his wife, Donna of Alaska; one daughter, Kristi Rasmussen of Omaha and five grandchildren, Robert, Lee and his fiancée, Michele, Kati, Justin and his wife, Chelsi and Tyler and a sister, Jeannette Rupprecht of Campbell. He is preceded in death by his wife, LaVon Memorial services will be on Monday, April 23, 2012 at the United Methodist Church in Minden at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be prior to the memorial service at the Minden Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Heartwell VFW and the Minden American Legion. There will be no visitation. Layton-Craig Funeral Home in Minden is in charge of arrangements.
