DONALD W. CREWS Donald W. Crews, son of Marvin and Martha Crews, was born April 17, 1917, at Shubert, Nebraska, and passed from this life on April 15, 1979, at Red Cloud, Nebraska. Don graduated from Shubert High School in 1936 and served his country in the Armed Forces of America during World War II. On September 18th, 1965, he was united in marriage with Evelyn Hutchison in Las Vegas, Nevada. For many years Don was a resident of Guide Rock, Nebraska, where he served as Postmaster and Rural Mail Carrier prior to his retirement. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Guide Rock, Nebraska, Guide Rock Masonic Lodge, the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, and the American Legion. He is survived by his wife Evelyn, a daughter Donna Lee Green of Decatur, Nebraska; two brothers, Delbert Crews of Glendale, Arizona, and Willis Crews of Kansas City, Kansas, and six sisters, Darlene David of Kansas City, Kansas, Bessie Shubert, Bernice Rue, Pauline Hansen, Dorothy Fritz all of Falls City, Nebraska, and Ruby Kolar of Humbolt, Nebraska. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service was held Thursday morning, April 19, at the United Methodist Church in Guide Rock. Pastor Jack Sample officiated. Burial was made at Shubert. Pallbearers at Guide Rock were Raymond Sanson, Wayne Reed, Clinton Crary, Kenneth Moravek, Claire Guy and Bob Shaw. At Shubert Claude Reyman took the place of Raymond Sanson. Honorary pallbearers were George Sholtz, Don Abernathy, Clif Bailey, Jesse Hager and Claire Woodward. Coming from out of town for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Harlow Doggett of Burwell; Mr. and Mrs. John Doggett of Central City; Mr. and Mrs. Claude Reyman and family of Lincoln; Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Green of Decatur; Mr. and Mrs. Ira Fares of Ithaca, Nebraska; Mrs. Edith Reyman of Wood Lake; Mr. and Mrs. James Doyal and family of St. Paul; Mr. and Mrs. Louis Hansen Jr. of Red Oak, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Louis Hansen, Sr., Mrs. Bessie Shubert, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Fritz, Mrs. Bernice Rue, all of Falls City; Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Kolar of Humboldt; Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Crews of Glendale, Arizona; Mr. and Mrs. Willis Crews of Kansas City, Kansas.
