FUQUA, Harry E.


Harry E. Fuqua, 75 years of age from Kearney, formerly of Minden died on Monday, February 27, 2012 at his home in Kearney. Harry was born in Trenton, NE on November 12, 1936 to Wesley Irwin and Edna (Frakes) Fuqua. He grew up in the in the Benkelman area and they moved to Lexington his senior year. On May 28, 1960 he married Marilyn Naprstek and they moved to Minden in 1966. Harry worked for Minden Beef, Talbert Land Leveling and then Eaton's for 16 years. They moved to Kearney in 2007 after they retired. He enjoyed bowling, camping, watching John Wayne movies and loved his family. Memorials are suggested to Aseracare Hospice or St. Jude's. Survivors include his wife, Marilyn of Kearney; three daughters, Lonna Gronewoller and her husband, Scott of Kearney, Linda Gibreal and her husband, John of Minden and Teresa Bontz and her husband, Jeff of Aurora; son Irwin Fuqua and his wife, Amy of Kearney; eight grandsons; six great grandchildren; three sisters, Rose Marie Griess of Spokane, WA, Mary Ann Schnacker of Lexington and Betty Wonderly of Elwood. Funeral services will be on Monday, March 5, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Minden with Rev. Donald Becker and Rev. James Howard DeLoach officiating. Burial will be in the Minden Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Layton-Craig Funeral Home in Minden on Sunday from 5 - 7 p.m.
